This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Kyle Schneider, 56 years old, born on September 14, 1964 and passed away on November 12, 2020. We will remember him forever.

Kyle Nathan Schneider, beloved husband and son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Quentin Schneider in Aurora, Illinois on September 14, 1964. Kyle attended Lyons Township Community High School in LaGrange, IL.

He fell in love with cooking at an early age and started working in restaurants at the age of 14. He had also won a number of cooking competitions while in high school. He had a love for fine dining and worked at The Flame restaurant in Countryside, IL for many years before becoming the Executive Chef for Planet Hollywood. He worked in restaurants in Chicago, Dallas, Arlington, VA, Princeton, NJ, Philadelphia, Baltimore and other cities before landing in Knoxville, TN because of falling in love with a girl that he met while in managerial training for Bailey’s Sports Bar, who became his wife for the rest of his life. Most recently, he was a manager for Applebee’s for the better part of 13 years and was currently at the Oak Ridge location.

He loved to explore the cities where he worked and enjoyed revisiting and sharing what he had discovered with visiting family and friends. He took great joy in cooking for his friends and family and made sure that no one would ever go hungry in his presence.

Besides his wife of 14 years, Michelle (Shelly) Eller (Pimienta), Kyle is survived by his father, Quentin, his sister, Sharyl Lee and his brother Corey along with Garrett Schneider, Tiera Wilkin and Sonja Tiveri, children adopted from a previous marriage.

Kyle took his last earthly breath on November 12th, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Family and friends will gather for a Recognition Service at New Harvest Park, 4775 New Harvest Ln. Knoxville, TN 37918 at 12:00pm on Sunday, November 22, 2020. The service will be officiated by Reverend Daniel Davis and a reception will immediately follow the service.

Kyle will be missed - I remember much about Kyle, but what I remember most was his passion for people, his giving spirit, and his natural caring nature. Not only did Kyle work with me on my team for several years at Applebee's, but we also shared neighborhoods for some time where I got to know Kyle a bit better.  We shared many laughs and, a couple of stiff drinks :-). My prayers are with you Michelle as you have always been Kyle's purpose and love of his life.  Kyle RIP friend.

Kyle's humor and giving personality leaves an indelible memory of laughing and talking from Knoxville to Atlanta for a Way International Region meeting. Altho I didn't see Kyle often after that trip, I loved the tasty food he would send by Shelly to Fellowship.

I got to work with Kyle at Applebee’s in Oak Ridge. He always talked about his wife and how much he loved her. His guns. And his dad. He would buy the whole crew food. He was the sweetest manager. He will be missed. I still can’t believe he’s gone. Your apple fam loves you Kyle and Shelly (he called his wife that). You will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

His Life

Kyle Pre-Adult by Quentin Schneider

November 18, 2020

Kyle Nathan Schneider was born to Quentin and Nancy Schneider in Aurora, Illinois on September 14, 1964. His sister, Sharyl, was soon to be two years old. A brother, Corey Allen, and another sister, Trenna Marie, would come along a few years later to complete the family.

Kyle was a normal kid, somewhat sensitive, blond, (his siblings were all firey red-heads owing to the genes of his two red-headed grandmothers) and strong. He had a somewhat lazy right eye and was left-handed. He wore glasses, often taped together at the nosepiece because, after all, he was a mini-kid and his parents were not wealthy. He was easily startled by sharp noises and rarely raised his voice.

It should be mentioned that he , as an early teen, impressed the Howells of Bensenville's Plentywood Farm. His mentor there was a specialist in Steak Diane. He also learned to prepare food tableside and to cook steak by touch. Kyle liked his steak cooked so the cow could heal. He was 14 years old.

His Aunt Kay gave him some valuable training in martial arts and he became a quick study doing well in competition up to the state level. As a developing teen, he became interested in body-building and, together with a very attractive young lady, won a first place in a noobie couples body-building competition at the state level. He nearly destroyed his kidneys when training for that competition. Kyle was regarded as charming and good-looking in his long blond hair. If you were female, you didn't stand a chance.

Late in high school, he took a dare in which he enrolled in a course in Home Economics. Think about the girls in the same class. His instructor was pretty persuasive and Kyle learned his way around the kitchen. He took top honors in state culinary competitions with a blistering diablo sauce and a lobster thermidor.

As a developing young man he joined a drum and bugle corps. He had a tin ear but enjoyed and played at music. His knowledge of bands from the 50s was close to encyclopaedic. He played the bass guitar. In his later life he would become friends with some quite notable people in the music business. Dennis DeYoung and other members of Styx come to mind.

Kyle was creeping up on age 19 and soon to be sous chef at The Flame in Countryside, Illinois. He honed his business sense at Lonestar Steakhouse, a chain of restaurants located in the nation's southwest and in the Chicago area.
